One year ago today, I married the coolest guy in all the land. We shared the day with the greatest family and friends, and it was everything we hoped it would be, and more. A ton has changed since then (we had no idea that we’d be living in Paris just a few months later), but I couldn’t be happier to be married to my best friend and ultimate partner in crime. Hitchen – I wouldn’t be me without you.
Our wedding (and entire day) was a little untraditional. We each (separately) got together with our friends that morning to get ready and have brunch. We met that afternoon at a local park, had a “first look” with just the two of us (though he had already seen my dress), and then proceeded to have pictures taken with our families and friends. For the rest of the afternoon, we drove around town in limos, stopping for pictures, drinks, and finally for supper at Mallard Cottage (an amazing restaurant in St. John’s, NL – go if you get the chance). After supper, we continued on to Bianca’s (another lovely restaurant and bar), where we had a simple evening ceremony, followed by celebrations, drinking, eating, and dancing, with all the people that we love. I almost wish we could do it all over again!
We had the most amazing photographer (seriously, check out Sandra Lee Photography ), but somehow we didn’t actually share many of the photos after our wedding day. So what better time than now?! Here are a few of my favourite shots. Full credit goes to Sandra Lee for these beauties!
{the bouquets – all made from wood and paper}
{beautiful pearls – the bracelet borrowed from my mom, the necklace borrowed from my aunt pat}
{amber bear, probably wondering what all the fuss was about}
{do you like my (rubber) boots?! so practical}
{such a beautiful, sunny winter day in the park}
{the very best (and very biggest) wedding party}
{I’m making that face because there are two people pinching my bum…}

{an amazing friend who read during the ceremony}
{of course our girls were there (and surprisingly well behaved)}
{sparklers for our first dance}
{poor hitchen carrying me for late-night shots, since I was wearing little shoes by this time}
