Lemonade is such a great summer drink. It’s perfect on its own, but also goes really well with gin or vodka :) Rather than regular lemonade, I like to make cherry lemonade! Here’s my recipe…
INGREDIENTS
12 cherries, plus more for garnish
3/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 litre carbonated water
DIRECTIONS
Pit your cherries, and combine with 1/2 cup of the lemon juice, water, and sugar in a medium pot. Cook over medium-high heat until simmering, then reduce heat to low. Continue to heat for about 10 minutes more, until all sugar is dissolved, and cherries are starting to break down. Let syrup cool completely.
Once the syrup is cooled, stir in the remaining 1/4 cup lemon juice and transfer it to a large jug. Top with several cups of ice, as well as more cherries and the sliced lemons.
Finish by adding the carbonated water, and stirring gently.
Sweet and delicious!
